An "image" is a premade version of the computer program, that is ready to run by clicking when it has been downloaded onto your local computer. It does not have to be "installed" but contains all that is necessary for use.

Typically, a KPML image will contain some semantics but may or may not contain any grammar. Grammars can be loaded in or written within the system as required and as described in the tutorials and documentation.
