The Grammar Explorer is available as a standalone image for running on PCs under Windows95 or WindowsNT.
There are two ways of obtaining and running the Grammar Explorer:
Startup
The Grammar Explorer is built on top of the KPML grammar development environment and so the first thing that appears when the image is started is the root KPML window. For the purposes of the Grammar Explorer the only thing to do here is to click on the main button marked Launch Development Windows near the bottom of the window; there is no need to investigate the other options available in the menu offered in this window since the Explorer comes with all necessary grammars and other linguistic resources preloaded. It is possible to load alternative grammars, etc. here in the normal way supported by KPML but this is not described in this documentation.
On selecting the Launch Development Windows button, a welcome message is brought up. Clicking OK on this message proceeds to bring up the KPML Development window and the Grammar Explorer window in quick succession. The Grammar Explorer is a specialization of the KPML coder and so its window is headed: "KPML `Rank and Axis' CODER". Once this window is open you are ready to start exploring the grammar as described in the main documentation and illustrated in the example of use.
