The Chamorro Linguistics International Network (CHiN) provides a forum for all those scholars who take an interest in the Chamorro language. CHiN aims at facilitating the exchange of ideas among the members of the world-wide community of linguists studying Chamorro.

The European Network of Amerindian Linguistics (ENAL) is meant to be the nucleus of a network of like-minded associations of European scholars and colleagues from overseas who specialise in the study of the indigenous languages of the Americas and feel the need of an institutionalised forum to exchange ideas, co-ordinate projects and rely upon when it comes to applying jointly for funding, etc.

Die Gesellschaft zur Förderung der sprachwissenschaftlichen Forschung im Nordwesten (GFSFNW) wurde am 10. Oktober 2008 während des 1. Nordwestdeutschen Linguistischen Kolloquiums (NWLK) an der Universität Bremen gegründet mit dem Ziel, ein Netzwerk aller im Nordwesten Deutschlands tätigen Sprachwissenschaftler aufzubauen und zu koordinieren, um den gegenseitigen Gedankenaustausch zu intensivieren und gemeinsame Projekte anzuregen, sowie die Öffentlichkeit über entsprechende Aktivitäten zu informieren.

Die Internationale Vereinigung für Maltesische Linguistik (Għaqda Internazzjonali tal-Lingwistika Maltija) wurde am 19. Oktober 2007 während der ersten Tagung Maltese linguistics / Lingwistika Maltija an der Universität Bremen gegründet. Ziel der Vereinigung ist die Förderung der Erforschung des Maltesischen.

The International Centre for the Study and Teaching of Lesser-Used Languages (CeSTeaLuL, now called VOCES), which was founded in Bremen/Germany on 7 October, 2009, the final day of the Festival of Languages, is unique globally as it is the first centre devoted exclusively to the less widely spoken languages of the world.
