Das NWLK ist das öffentliche Forum der Gesellschaft zur Förderung der sprachwissenschaftlichen
Forschung im Nordwesten (GFsFNW) und wird alljährlich im Wechsel von den
Universitäten Bremen und Oldenburg ausgerichtet.
Das Ziel dieses Kolloquiums besteht darin, die im Nordwesten Deutschlands und insbesondere
der Metropolregion Bremen/Oldenburg stattfindenden linguistischen Forschungsarbeiten
vorzustellen, zu diskutieren und ‒ auch in Form entsprechender Publikationen ‒ einer
größeren fachwissenschaftlichen Öffentlichkeit zugänglich zu machen.
Dieses Jahr heißen wir an der Universität Bremen zwei internationale Gäste willkommen. //
This year we welcome two international guests at the University of Bremen.
PD Dr. I. M. Nick is a US American sociolinguist in Germany. She holds a BA in Germanic Languages and Literature; a BSc in Clinical and Social Psychology; an MA in German; an MSc in Forensic Psychology; a PhD; and the German “Habilitation” in Linguistics. She is the former chair of the Linguistic Society of America's Committee for Ethnic Diversity in Linguistics and is the current President of the American Name Society.

Gilles Authier is "Directeur d'études" in the languages of the Caucasus at the Ecole Pratique des Hautes Etudes in Paris. His research concentrates on the East Caucasian family, with a focus on non-written languages of the Lezgic branch spoken in Azerbaijan, their documentation and typological variation, and their contacts with surrounding Turkic and Iranian languages. His publications include two grammars, one on Kryz (2009) and one on Juhuri (2012). He has also co-edited the volumes Tense, Aspect, Mood and Modality in languages of the Caucasus (together with Timur Maisak, Brockmeier, 2010) and Ergativity, Valency and Voice (together with Katharina Haude, De Gruyter, 2012). He is currently preparing grammars of two further East Caucasian languages: Southern Rutul and Budugh.
