The Malta Centre offers two practical one week language courses in introductory Maltese in 2016. One course for beginners and one course for more advanced learners. The courses are aimed at everyone who wants to gain an insight into Maltese grammar and learn basic conversational Maltese (A1.1 and A1.2 in the Common European Reference Framework).
Maltese is an Arabic language most closely related to Tunisian Arabic. In its history Maltese has been influenced by several languages, most notably by Italian and English. Half of the vocabulary of Maltese consists of Romance words and it is the only Arabic language written in Latin script.
The courses will be offered completely free of charge.
Important: the language of instruction is English.
