The Parlement of Foules: Henry V
Our friends, the University of Bremen drama group Parlement of Foules, will be performing Shakespeare’s Henry V in the Schnürschuhtheater on 4th, 5th, 6th, 8th and 9th June 2011. The Foules have developed a shortened and simplified version of the script, which we are enclosing for anyone who would like to use it in preparing pupils to see the play.
A schools pack is available; this includes
- thumbnail portraits of the main characters;
- a summary of the play (including some background); and
- questions for pupils to think about and discuss before and after attending a performance.
They have also developed a ‘pre-prologue’, which will take place at the start of the production: set in a contemporary school classroom, the teacher and pupils will touch on the most important background information, so that the audience is ‘at home’ with the characters etc. as we move into the play proper.
Tickets can be reserved with the theatre itself (0421 55 54 10), which is in Buntentorsteinweg 145 (Bremen-Neustadt).

The Foules would be most grateful if you could inform colleagues and friends of this production.
